At InRO, I offer my take on Carnage, the beautiful and brutal collaboration from Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. Its elliptical lyrics, robust arrangements, and emotional acuity make it an early favorite for the year; and if it isn’t quite the landmark achievement Ghosteen was, I imagine it will prove more accessible and less demanding in the long run.
